As technology advances and governments become enlightened, their need for spies has diminished, but never truly disappears. Even if the government did stop employing spies businesses still employ them for industrial espionage.
It is unknown why a spy would be aboard Spaceship 47 when the Draydun attacked, but it is fortuitous that there was one as you will be a valuable member of your team in getting Earth back.
Even though most spies conduct industrial espionage, it is still a dangerous job as companies are willing to go to any lengths necessary to protect their information.
Choose Spy as your character’s profession if you want to play a stealthy weaken your enemies if you want to play a weapons expert, whose resilience in combat can be an example to others.
